Dr. Shaoting Lin of Michigan State University presents his research on hydrogel adhesions and coatings. Dr. Lin's work is at the intersection of polymer science, solid mechanics, and advanced manufacturing, and he used a KLA nanoindentation system to study the effects of static and cycling loading as they contribute to hydrogel failure.

Nitride films are ubiquitous in their use as hard, wear-resistant coatings.
